At TDC, precise internal diameter polishing and mirror finishing are also possible!

Are you having trouble with the surface roughness of the inner diameter? At our company, when we perform a mirror finish on the inner diameter of pipes, we not only polish them but also manage dimensions while achieving the mirror finish. *The product in the photo is a sample that has been cut in half after the mirror finish for clarity. The material in the photo is stainless steel, with a surface roughness of Ra2nm or less for the inner diameter. We can also handle materials other than metals without any issues. We accommodate a wide range of diameters and inner diameter sizes, so please feel free to consult with us. If you reach out, we can support you from one piece to mass production!

Ultra-precision mirror surface processing "Electrolytic Composite Polishing"

Electrolytic composite polishing that achieves a nano-level mirror finish.

This is a polishing method that achieves a nano-level ultra-smooth surface by combining electrochemical polishing and physical polishing with abrasives simultaneously. 【Features of Electrolytic Composite Polishing】 ◆ Achieves a high mirror finish at the nano level Even pure titanium can be finished to an average roughness of 0.002 µm (2 nm) from an average roughness of 0.2 µm. Furthermore, depending on the polishing conditions, it is also possible to achieve an average roughness of 0.001 µm (1 nm). ◆ No distortion of the metal surface due to heat In physical polishing, distortion of the metal surface due to heat may occur, but this does not happen in electrolytic composite polishing. ◆ Clean surface properties with minimal alteration There is no compressed altered layer on the metal surface. Additionally, there is no entrapment of abrasives, resulting in a very clean surface. ◆ High non-adhesiveness and cleanliness A smooth metal surface exhibits excellent non-adhesiveness and cleanliness. ◇◇ For more details, please download the catalog or contact us ◇◇

[Technical Information] Types of Polishing (Mirror Finishing) and Their Differences

Types of polishing and their differences! We will introduce "cloth buff processing" and "single crystal processing" respectively.

Among resin processing, acrylic (PMMA) processing is often used as a design product at delivery destinations, and there are products that require polishing on the processed surface. Polishing (also known as grinding or mirror finishing) includes cloth buff polishing and single crystal processing, each with its own characteristics. First, "cloth buff processing" involves smoothing the processed surface after cutting, planing, and NC processing with sandpaper, and then applying the processed surface against a rotating cloth. The frictional heat melts the surface of the processed area, smoothing out any irregularities before cloth buff processing and giving the processed surface a glossy finish. Additionally, "single crystal processing" uses a tool called a single crystal diamond tool in NC processing to finish the processed surface, resulting in a glossy finish. 【Characteristics of Cloth Buff Processing】 ■ Achieves the highest level of transparency in the final finish. ■ By performing cloth buff finishing on transparent acrylic to the extreme, it is possible to approach the material's transparency as closely as possible. ■ Even for products with stepped processing, if there is a suitable surface for cloth buffing, processing can be done. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Hard turning mirror finish processing

We accept hard turning mirror finishing with a surface roughness of Rz1μ or less.

At Harada Iron Works Co., Ltd., we perform hard turning on high-hardness heat-treated steel. Compared to grinding processes, there are products that offer advantages in terms of cost and machining accuracy. We have processing experience with materials such as general carbon steel, alloy steel, and martensitic stainless steel. For workpieces with high hardness, we use CBN tools or PCD tools for turning. For lower hardness, we use carbide tools or cermet tools for turning. The turning process can achieve a surface roughness of "Rz1.0μ to 2.0μ." If a higher surface roughness is required, we perform burnishing. Please note that depending on the material, hardness, and shape, mirror finishing may not be possible. Feel free to consult with us. *For more details, please do not hesitate to contact us.*

For those who cannot achieve flatness accuracy and surface roughness with a grinding machine! Mirror finish processing.

With wrapping processing technology, high-precision finishing is possible. It has low polishing drive power and features an energy-saving design that also considers the environment. [Exhibited at the Mechanical Elements Technology Exhibition]

We accept consultations regarding flatness accuracy, surface roughness, and other requests using our wrapping machine. Our "PLR-420S" is one of the largest single-sided wrapping machines, capable of processing large workpieces. If you are facing issues such as "unable to achieve flatness accuracy with grinding machines" or "unable to meet surface roughness requirements," please feel free to contact us directly. 【Features of Wrapping Processing】 - Wet processing minimizes thermal impact on the workpiece, resulting in less processing distortion. - Since the workpiece is processed without being chucked, it is less likely to experience processing stress, leading to minimal changes in accuracy over time after processing. - Flatness that cannot be achieved through turning, machining, or grinding can be accomplished with wrapping processing. - By performing wrapping processing on the reference surface before precision finishing (grinding, machining), high-performance finishing can be achieved. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Polished with artisan skills! "Mirror finish"

[Concern] I want to perform mirror finishing.

It is not used as a mirror, but there are times when iron or carbide is polished to a mirror finish. The applications vary, whether it is to reflect something, to slide, or to achieve a flat surface. <Will it really become a mirror?> Yes, it will become a mirror. Light reflects, and faces are visible! However, to achieve a mirror finish, the material needs to be hard. If it is not hard, there is a high possibility that processing scratches will occur during the process of achieving a mirror finish. <To achieve precision> A mirror finish has very little surface roughness. Utilizing this characteristic, there are times when a mirror finish is applied for the purpose of uniform thickness or control at the micron level (=0.001mm). In such cases, it may be acceptable to have some scratches (since it is not reflecting a face). <For inquiries about mirror finishing, please contact us> Depending on the required level of mirror finish, material, and shape, it may be challenging, but we will work together to find solutions regarding how far a mirror finish can be achieved. Please feel free to consult with us.
